The Gatsby opened its doors in November 2005. Since then, we have become the premier destination for fine food and drink in Hertfordshire and the surrounding area.
Their reputation is founded upon attentive service and a well balanced menu using the finest ingredients. The bar offers an extensive wine, cocktail and champagne menu in a relaxed and refined environment.
When The Rex cinema first opened in 1938, over 1,000 people flocked to see starlets such as Nova Pilbeam in ‘Young and Innocent’ within its opulent art deco surroundings. However in 1988, the cinema closed its doors to the public, due to dwindling audience figures.
Thankfully in 2004, this sleeping beauty opened its eyes once again, with a beautifully restored cinema, followed a year later by The Gatsby restaurant below, offering the perfect environment to relax, unwind, eat and drink.
The Gatsby offers regular piano accompaniment and a Jazz brunch on Sundays.
